When using pure Essential Oils, you want to make sure that you are using glass, stainless steel, or a plastic that is compatible with EO’s. I recommend using glass whenever possible. It’s good for the environment, and you will be able to use and reuse for it’s lifetime.
If you are wanting to make your own personal care products and use Essential Oils more, then you will be searching for glassware, jars, roller bottles, spray bottles, and dropper bottles.
But what are you going to make? – I’ll share some easy ways to use your dropper bottles with some simple recipes.
1. Custom Diffuser Blends
We are all different, and we all have our favorite diffuser blends. It’s so fun to create and blend, and when you find a blend that makes you feel at home, it’s one that usually gets diffused over and over. Why not make it easy on yourself?
You can use these droppers to have your diffuser blend ready to go. Easy access sitting next to your diffuser. You could have one next to your kitchen diffuser, or in each person’s bedroom. Or one in the office. You could add 100 drops each of Lavender, Peppermint and Lemon to one of these bottles and you have a great blend ready to go during the springtime for those seasonal threats!
If you are stuck here are some favorite diffuser blends that you could pre-blend and have ready to go.
Example of blending :
For Hammock Time : add 30 drops Lavender, 30 drops Frankincense, 20 drops Juniper Berry – this would give you 10 diffusing sessions
2. Custom Massage Oil
The beautiful thing about having essential oils, carrier oils, and glassware at home, you can make what fits you and your life. And you can omit all the extra toxic yuck that can be super harmful. And you can pick what you love. Using a massage oil is great for relieving sore tired muscles, relaxing, setting the mood, and so much more.
My FAVORITE oil blend is known as the Massage Blend. You can get it through doTERRA’s website. It’s super affordable and is amazing for those aches and pains, and use this blend often. If you struggle with discomfort, then I encourage you to try. It’s called Aromatouch!
To make a premade massage blend – you would add 10 – 20 drops of Aromatouch to your 1oz dropper bottle and top with fractionated coconut oil, and your ready to go.
If you have oils in your home and you want to create your own, here’s a great warming massage oil recipe. You can either use it as you go, so use it from your bottles. Or you could use your dropper bottle and add your oils with a carrier oil, and have it ready to go.
3. Beard Oil
There are many benefits of using a beard oil. Just like we want to support the hair on our heads, the men in our life will want to nourish the hair on their faces. Some benefits include supporting healthy growth, appearance, deter buildup, relieve itching, and support the skin underneath. You can easily make up your own DIY recipe – saving you money, time, and customizing it to what he’s looking for.
Essential oils that are great additions : Tea Tree (cleansing), Rosemary (supports growth), Siberian Fir, Black Spruce, Cedarwood, Hinoki, Douglas Fir, Cypress, Sandalwood, Arborvitae – the trees smell incredible, and have chemical constituents that support hair health.
4. Nail/Cuticle Serum
Our hands, nails and cuticles take a beating each day. It’s important to take care of them. Our cuticles job is to seal the nail bed, which helps prevent any bad things to get in – which could cause infection and a not so desirable result. The cuticle also helps the nail grow properly.
Using a nail cream or serum, will benefit them by supporting the rapid cellular growth, their appearance, moisturizing (especially in dry cold months), and preventing hangnails.
Here’s a great DIY recipe using essential oils, fractionated coconut oil and a 1oz glass dropper.
5. DIY Custom Face Serum
We all have different skin types, so there isn’t a one size fits all when it comes to our skin care. Using a face serum from the store can be great for 1 person, and then horrible for another. So why not make your own? You can customize the carrier oils (jojoba, fco, argan, apricot, rosehip, sweet almond etc.), essential oils (rose, jasmine, neroli, copaiba, frankincense, lavender, blue tansy, yarrow/pom etc.) and you can add in your favorites such as pure vitamin e. You can create something that is so specific to you, and that works incredible. Adding this to a dropper bottle or serum pump creates ease and convenience.
Hopefully this gives you some ideas and new ways to use your dropper bottles. Would love to hear how you like to use your dropper bottles and your favorite recipes. Share with me in the comments.
